Program Description

Program Details

"Samaritans has provided suicide prevention services for fifty years in the greater Boston area through a 24/7 hotline, grief support and educational workshops. Our workshops are tailored to the populations they serve by educators and mental health clinicians.  They discuss the risk factors and stressors that negatively impact mental health, they help trainees to improve active listening skills to support peers who are struggling, and they educate on the importance of self-care and communal support systems.  For youth, they additionally address the need to find a trusted adult and how to do this. These trainings are developed in accordance with best practices based on formal research."

**In the event that anyone in attendance begins to feel unsafe or starts to feel triggered by the content being discussed at this workshop, we will have a social worker from the Town on Randolph on stand-by to assist with and/or talk with you either during (or after) the workshop wraps up.**
